FAQ

Short answers to the questions that come up most; each links to the fuller docs.

Where does my data live?

Your workspace state — window layout, symbols, chart settings — saves to your browser and syncs to your account, so it's there on any device you sign in from. Saved strategies and indicators sync the same way. See Workspace for what persists.

Do backtests cost money?

Local backtests run free, in parallel web workers in your browser — see Backtest Lab for how they work. Cloud backtests — running on a hosted runner instead of your machine — exist in the codebase but aren't enabled for users today.

Can I import my own data?

Yes — the Backtest Lab's Configure tab lets you import CSV datasets alongside bars from your connected adapters, and previews coverage and gaps before you run. See Backtest Lab for details.

Why did my order fill on the next bar?

Backtests fill orders at the next bar's open, never the same bar you signaled on — that's what keeps results honest instead of peeking into the future. You decide on bar i; the fill happens at bar i+1's open. See Backtest Lab for the full rule set.

Are drawing-tool scripts available?

Not yet — drawing tools are built in, but scripting your own isn't available today. See Scripting for what's scriptable now (strategies and indicators).
